GCSE and Skillz Camp

Who it’s for

The GCSE Practical Exam and Skillz Camp is for athletes who need to perfect the technical form necessary to consistently receive serves, pass, set, serve and spike the ball, or for athletes who want to demonstrate their proficiency in the basic skills for the GCSE Sports Studies diploma.

The GCSE Practical Exam option gives Sports Studies students 15 hours of tuition based on the criteria set by national Examining Boards.  Limited to 12 participants, each will receive video recordings of the sessions for use in a remote assessment by their school PE instructor.  This can be worth 10 percent of the GCSE grade. The training can also benefit athletes studying for an NCFE Certificate in Sports and Physical Activity or A Level Sport and Fitness.

Running simultaneously, the Skillz Camp is a highly structured training programme where athletes concentrate on individual ball-handling drills in preparation for the demands of sustained performance training. Athletes who need to refine their technical form and achieve consistent performance follow the VbDC Skillz curriculum which also introduces them to the competitive and tactical aspects of the game.

Both sections combine individual ball-handling drills with game situation scrimmages.
